Campus Summit - Gyaru convention.

Campus Summit is an event that I have heard about for a long time, its like a celebration of Gyaru culture, old and new, held in Shibuya annually. This was an indoor event in a giant hall where lives are usually held and the event was a mixture of fashion shows, music and dance performances, guest appearances and product advertisements.

The guest appearances included Gyaru models from Ageha, Black Diamond and Vivid Gal units and some singers and dance groups. The fashion shows were a little bland as the styles were a little toned down, they showcased 109 brands such as Honey Bunch and OneSpo.
My favourite part of the entire event were the Para Para dance shows; I had never seen Para Para in real life before, it was strangely hypnotic. Vivid members put on two perfectly synced Para Para shows!

The event itself was really packed, with people in various styles of fashion, it was awesome to see such a congregation of fashionistas in Shibuya, especially seeing them all waiting outside the conbini!

My outfit for that day was a Rokku Gyaru look wearing mostly Glavil, the zipper skirt is a super popular item right now, I bought it in leopard print. The super urban backstreets of Tokyo made a good setting for everyone's fashion I thought. The only problem was the intense humidity that was made everyone's makeup melt off.

I made a new friend from Germany that day too, one good thing about Tokyo is that you can meet people from all around the world and more likely than not those people share similar interests with you.

After the show I met Ashley for a purikura session and then we headed to club Camelot for a night of drinking and debauchery~ She makes a really sexy Rokku chick, don't you think?

Rilakkuma cafe in Shibuya!

Pop-up cafes are increasing in popularity lately, after the success of the Little Win Stars cafe it gave a new rise to cute characters getting their own cafes such as My Melody and Pikachu. Of course I have made it my personal mission to visit them ALL, starting with the Rilakkma cafe. The pop-up cafes have a time limit, which makes it more exciting, usually they stick around for 1-3 months.

Rilakkuma is an uber popular brown bear known as "Relaxing bear" which made him perfect as a cafe mascot, because this was one of the most chilled out cafes I have ever been to. He kind of always looks like hes having a bad day though, maybe that's why everyone can relate to him so much.

This cafe popped up in the cafe section of Tower records in Shibuya, the decor of that cafe was all  brown natural wood, so it matched perfectly. They dotted giant Rilakkuma plushies everywhere in various positions so you could hug them and have your own Teddy bear picnic.

Of course people started putting them in...Weird positions. I visited the cafe with the gorgeous Ashley and Shani who came dressed in princess style too, Shani is a big fan of Rilakkuma, I am pretty sure she has an album of Rilakkuma photos on her Facebook under the title of "My boyfriend"... >_<

Usually in cafes like this, the food can either be really plain, a mixture of weird tastes or really expensive, the food here was actually really impressive and you could get a set for 1500yen, which includes a main and a drink.

Firstly, we ordered the RIlakkuma curry rice. Most theme cafes have a curry rice option because its so easy to mould into a cute character. This particular curry rice was night themed, Rilakkuma is resting his head on a little sweet tamago pillow, with little moons made from aubergine and stars made from carrots. The curry sauce was sweet, but delicious.

For dessert we had a delicious Rilakkuma chocolate cheesecake, the base was biscuit, the middle was cheesecake and the rest was chocolate mousse, of course it was a delicious chocolate overload.

Last up was our hot drink, this is surprisingly the most delicious part of the meal, it was some kind of sweet tea and it tasted like white chocolate, the face remained on the drink until we drunk all of it, the face kind of drooped though so the more you drunk, the sadder his face looked haha.

The food in general was pretty high in quality, but as most cafes like this the portions were kind of small, but I would definitely eat there again.

Finally, as I put so much effort in to my Hime Gyaru appearance for the day, we did Purikura afterwards;

My outfit was an OP and headdress from Angelic Pretty with a cheap ass 300 yen crown I bought from Harajuku. Ashley wore Liz Lisa and Shani wore Mars, they both looked like princesses.
