Loli-POP Friday Late at the V&A

Frills and Frolics hosted an event at the Victoria and Albert; the Loli-POP friday late. This event was a decadent evening filled with Japanese fashion and music, with DJ Tom Smith (Japan Underground), an Alice in Wonderland inspired ballet show, a wig, nail and lips bar and a jewellery making workshop. I actually ended up getting to the event very late so I missed a few key parts of the event, but I just enjoyed seeing all the outfits! they looked spectacular in the V&A courtyard as the evening drew in with all the tiny twinkling lights.

Many of the little booths and bars were inside and as the museum is so gigantic, I never got to see and do everything. I think it would have been better if everything was in the courtyard, but overall the event was fantastic. I ended up working at the wig stall as they had a rush of people wanting to try on the Gothic Lolita wigs, that somehow ended up being super fun as I have never put a wig on anyone else before and seeing the peoples fances light up when they saw themselves change so dramatically was great.

The highlights of the evening for me, were meeting all the lovely people such as Nuella and Rosemonde, who I met at Hyper Japan! (above) and all the gorgeous outfits. The DJ set was really atmospheric playing catchy J-pop such as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and that made it even more magical.
The day as a whole was brilliant, but extremely tiring! especially after we got free drinks at the Drunke Monkey Dim sum restaurant in Shoreditch, my body isn't used to containing so much alcohol! it was a perfect start to the evening though. Afterwards we headed to Taro, a Japanese restaurant in Soho and finished the evening with some ramen. I never got my bubble milk tea though T__T Maybe next time!
